Christian Witnessing
While it's true that witnessing isn't exactly related to Christian media, the theme of this site, Jesus Christ commanded all of us to "make disciples of all the nations," so that is exactly what we should do. On this page you will find two of the tools that people have used to reach the lost and bring them the salvation of Jesus Christ. Below are the Roman Road and the ABC's of Witnessing. When you're witnessng to someone, tell them the difference Christ has made in your life. If they ask questions, try your best to answer them, but if you don't know find out the answer together if they'll let you, or separate and get back to them later. No one has all the answers, so don't be afraid to say so. If you do lead someone to Christ, they need to be discipled or they could easily be led astray.
The Roman Road
The Roman Road, or Roman's Road, is the plan of salvation laid out by Paul to the "saints" of the church in Rome. We've seen more than one way to do this, but here is the most common. The verses below are from the King James, which may or may not be your preferred translation.
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
We have all sinned and without God's grace and forgiveness we have no hope.
Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
God's loved us so much that the Father sent the Son to die and pay for our sins, even
though we don't deserve it.
Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Wages are payment we earn, as we all know. We have earned eternal damnation because of our sin. We can have eternal life only through Jesus Christ.
Roman 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
You must make a confession of Christ as Lord and believe in your
heart that He died on the cross and was raised again, then you will be saved!
Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Just call on Him. He wants to hear from you.
The ABC's of Witnessing
The ABC plan of salvation is a simple way to witness that is relatively easy to remember. It doesn't contain Scripture, but it can help show the truth to a non-believer.
A = ADMIT you are a sinner, that you need Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, and that to be saved you must obey the Lord Jesus. You cannot save yourself through works or anything else, nor can you add to or take from the finished work of Christ for you.
B = BELIEVE the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. You can know He is Whom He claimed to be by the prophecies fulfilled in His Life, and the changes He will make in yours.
C = CONFESS to the Lord and to yourself that you have responsibilities and commitments as a follower of Christ. The more you know of Him the more you will want others to know of Him
